Socials

We visit the pub for a drink after training every week, and also have regular club socials. We have visited the likes of the Spice Lounge, Frankie and Bennys and Stony Stratford curry houses for meals, have been ten-pin bowling at both Milton Keynes bowling alleys, and have been out for various korfballers' birthdays.

Socials coming up! Toby's birthday do 23/02/08, and another MK City pub quiz 14/03/08

Some of us have also tried more unusual things!! Like...
  • Our Christmas 2005 social was turbo-tubing at the Xscape snow dome
  • In December 2005, we also (plus a few ringers) played as the "Jammy Dodgers" in the UK's first dodgeball tournament
  • In July 2005, we had a club trip to Germany to watch the Great Britain korfball team at the World Games (that's a big event for sports not in the Olympics)
  • In June 2006, we then played in our first overseas tournament, in the club trip to Luxembourg!
  • In February 2006 and November 2007, we went to watch the MK Lightning ice hockey matches, then (skating the first time, no thanks to the Masters football who stopped us skating the second time) and drinking!
  • In October 2006, we saw MK lost to Peterborough again, but this time it was the MK Dons
  • In November 2006, we went to Towcester Races, even though some people chickened out because of the rain! However, everyone was reunited for a curry later.
  • We kicked off 2007 by going to an MK Lions basketball match, with Nov, Specky and Katie showing the pros how it's done by all winning the half-time shooting competition
  • In February 2007, a few korfers went to Madrid to celebrate Toby's birthday, although texted back to find out how the korfball teams were doing!
  • In April 2007, there were trips to watch the Northampton Saints, although unfortunately not a happy ending. However, it didn't stop us going back there to one of their Christmas party nights for our 2007 Christmas do.
  • In 2007, we also managed TWO overseas trips for the first time ever - a return to the Luxembourg tournament in June, and also a trip to watch the World Korfball Championships in the Czech Republic in November.

Keep checking this page for the next socials!

Although not strictly speaking a korfball social, Katie and Clive's wedding had plenty of korfers in attendance, and plenty of alcohol and dancing! More photos coming soon....
