COME AND TRY KORFBALL - NEW PLAYERS WANTED! FREE BEGINNER TRAINING FOR ALL OF JAN 2008!

MK City are a friendly korfball club founded in autumn 2006. We train on Monday evenings, from September to April at the Woughton Leisure Centre in Leadenhall, Milton Keynes, from 18:15-19:15

Korfball is a fantastic sport that has only been in MK for 3 years, and we are very actively looking to recruit and expand right now. And since we know a lot of people like to get fit in the new year, training is FREE for all newcomers (both beginner and experienced) throughout January, with a dedicated beginners coach to teach you all you need to know if you haven't played before.

England beating Australia at the recent World Champs. You too could be playing this game!

A great draw for the Oxfordshire league team, 6-6 against league leaders Oxford City in the first game of the New Year was followed by a 9-3 defeat to MK Bucks 3, that was closer than the scoreline suggests. The league now splits (with MK City in the bottom half, boo!) and we have three return fixtures against Didcot, Oxford Isis 2 and MK Bucks 3. The OKA Cup is on Jan 20th and City and Roos have separate teams entered, so more games for everyone! League MK then resumes on Feb 3rd, so a great chance then for new players to get a game.

SOCIALS! Curry social at Spice Lounge 03/12/07 instead of training!

First win for the Oxfordshire league team! 5-4 on 25/11 against Oxford Isis 2, having been 2 goals down twice. Goals from Mark 2, Ninja Sarah, Darren and the winner from super-sub Holly. Congratulations to everyone who played.

The Oxfordshire combined City/Roos team had an agonising 3-2 defeat to Reading 2 in their final pre-Christmas trip to Oxford, having been 2-0 up, and with a major call for a penalty (not given) in the last minute.

The 2007/08 MK League kicked off on Nov 11th - a narrow defeat (but with a bonus point) to an experienced Bucks team, but a lot closer than they were expecting! Well done to the team - Darren, Mark, Norbert, Marek, Dave, Laura B, Laura O, Sarah and Jo. Note that League MK round 2 has moved from Dec 2nd to Dec 9th.

Missing top scorer Mark, we lost 8-2 to Didcot in our latest OKA game on 4th November

Our second OKA league game took place on 21st October, with an agonising 8-9 defeat to Oxford Uni 2 (goals Mark 4, Darren 2, Norbert, Sarah M), despite winning the second half by one goal. We did, however, pick up a bonus point.

Unfortunately we lost our first ever OKA league match 6-1 to Abingdon 2 after being 1-0 up (Mark) and only 2-1 down at half-time, but we are new at this level and there's plenty of promise to build on.

2007/08 fixtures up to mid-January now online!
